Margaret Carter
has worked as a pre-school teacher with Education Queensland and as
a Special Education Consultant, a Guidance Consultant and Guidance
Counsellor with Catholic Education. Margaret works as a consultant,
mentor, teacher, social coach, program designer, facilitator, presenter
and mediator.
Margaret’s main areas of operation include ... behaviour development and management, early years education, child social behaviour, conflict resolution, emotion fitness, inclusion, childhood grief and loss, parenting. In addition to individual consultancy Margaret facilitates small and large group workshops for staff, parents and children in each of these areas. Margaret is an esteemed professional practitioner, committed to the provision of quality teaching and learning for children and adults. She is a passionate advocate of inclusion and inclusive education. Margaret has a wealth of practical experience, theoretical knowledge and competencies in her areas of speciality. She is well respected within the field of education, childhood behaviour, parenting and early childhood. Margaret is the author of several books. She has co-authored two social understanding curriculum texts for young children. Margaret is the joint author of The Five Faces of Parenting program, a unique program designed to make a positive difference in the lives of families. |

Margaret is the co-editor of Social Spectrum , an Australian magazine for
professionals and para- professionals working alongside individuals
with diverse and challenging needs in the areas of social and emotional
understanding and management.
In addition to these creative ventures Margaret has WORKED collaboratively Dr Michael Bernard and a group of early childhood teachers to develop the early years version of the You Can Do It ! Education, Program Achieve curriculum.
